AirBnBs to re-open 30 April

Self-contained tourism accommodation can re-open from 30th April in Northern Ireland. But is there the demand? We think that the Belfast tourism market will be very slow to return and with an abundance of empty hotel rooms, competition will be tight. Due to most of the rest of the world not being vaccinated as quickly as the UK, it is unlikely that we will see any major influx of overseas tourists this year. We may see a surge frm GB visitors, who will find it difficult to visit less vaccinated overseas destinations, but the important ROI market may not be there due to their lag in vaccinations. This means that we will probably advise our clients to continue to rent out either long term (6 months+) or to the lucrative medium term corporate lettings market which we also operate in.
